Brady, You are SIX months old! (somebody pinch me)
What have you been up to?
* You still eat every 3 1/2 hours during the week (6:00, 9:30, 1:00, 4:30, 8:00). You've been taking 6 1/2 oz in your bottle at daycare, but on Tuesday your teachers said you seemed hungry after your bottles, so you now get 8 oz. and they say you eat the whole thing in 5 minutes flat! There's not a drop left! When you nurse, you eat anywhere from 10-30 minutes. It depends on how awake or tired you are. On the weekends, you eat about every 3 hours since you sleep later, and I give you your last feeding at 8:00.
* You no longer receive your "dream feed" that you were getting at 10:00. Mommy was having to wake you up for it, and now that you're sleeping in your crib you no longer get it. The first few nights, you woke up around 10:00, but now you sleep through it! You've done great with your new eating schedule!

* You wear a size 3 diaper (Pamper's Swaddlers) and size 3-6 month and 6-9 month clothes. Some of your outfits (Gymboree) you wear their size 6-12 months. It's starting to cool off, so you need a fall wardrobe.
* You are doing great at daycare and your teacher's love you...duh, what's not to love!?! They say you are such a content happy baby! When I pick you up you get so excited to see me. You give me the biggest grin then start fussing for me to pick you up. Sometimes, you'll start laughing when you see me. If a teacher is holding you when I pick you up, you start kicking your legs and do a sort-of bouncy thing with your body. Picking you up is the best part of my day!
* Your napping is very sporatic. You were taking 2 naps at daycare, a nap in the car on the way home, and a small one at home at the beginning of the month. Now, you are taking 2-3 30 minute naps at daycare and sometimes one 30-1 hr. nap at home. On the weekends, you nap for at least 30 minutes between every feeding. You probably nap more at home since I hold you every nap. I figure I don't get to hold you during your naps during the week, so I will get all my nap holding time in on the weekends! This is also why you probably don't like for me to put you down.
* You have slept in your crib every night this month! I miss being able to see your face next to me, but I think you get a better night's sleep in your own room. We turn on your sound machine everynight and you are out. Sometimes you'll wake up and cry, but I've learned that you are just crying in your sleep, you're not really awake. One night you cried for awhile and it was breaking my heart, so I went to get you. I ended up waking you up. So now if you start crying, we let you cry it out. It's so hard to hear you cry. Mommy and daddy just want to run in your room, scoop you up, and comfort you, but we feel better now knowing that you're just doing it in your sleep.
* You have started to sleep on your tummy in your crib. Mommy lays you down on your back, but after a few hours you roll over onto your tummy! I also lay you down at the bottom of your crib, and you move to the top of the crib at night! You like to sleep on your tummy with your head pressed against the top of your crib! Silly boy!
* You are checking off milestones left and right! This month you started sitting up (9/18)! You still topple over some when you try to reach for things. I either sit near you or put a pillow up to help break your topple. You love to sit up and play with your toys!
* You are also "scooting" all over the place. You can move yourself from one side of the blanket to the other by rolling over, turning yourself around, and rolling over again to get where you want.
* You think Jordan is the most entertaining funniest thing ever! She just walks past you and you grin and laugh. Do you know how hard mommy and daddy have to work for your laughs? Jordan gets them so easily. We think it's adorable, and love that you already love her. We know you two will be great friends!
* As you can tell from the pictures, you are much more active! You want to touch everything you see and try to eat everything you see. Taking pictures today was so much fun! I love seeing you explore more and see your personality come out. The only way I could get your attention was to squeal really loud or get Jordan to come sit down next to me.
* One of my favorite things you do is you give me kisses! You grab my lips and lean forward and suck on your hand. So sweet!
* This past month you always want me to hold you, I mean always. If I put you down you cry, if I walk out of the room you cry! However, I love to hold you and it makes me feel so good that you want me to hold you and you miss me when I leave the room. When we're together, I'm holding you about 90% of the time. I'm not complaining...I know one day you will be to big for me to hold. So I'm using every chance I get.
* You still enjoy bathtime. We tried to give you a bath in your bathtub in our bathtub, but you didn't like it. So, we are back on the kitchen counter. I prefer it this way too!
* You make all sorts of sweet sounds! I love having conversations with you! Somedays you have so much to say and other days you are just taking everything in.
* You love when I sing to you! You will stare at me and smile. My favorite songs to sing to you are "You Are My Sunshine", "Skinna Marinky Dinky Dink", "Good Morning to You", "Jesus Loves Me" (but I say you), and "Itsy Bitsy Spider".
* You love your Baby Bjorn. It gives you a chance to look around and see everything, which you love! I always get so many compliments on how cute you are when you are in it.
* You still enjoy your activity mat and activity center, but you've lost interest in your swing. If I try to put you in it, you cry. You have a ton of toys, but your favorite are ones with hard plastic that you can put in your mouth and chew on.
Brady, I can't believe you are half a year old! Seriously, half a year old! The past few months have flown by, and I know the next 6 months will fly by too and before we know it we'll be celebrating your first birthday! The past 6 months have honestly been THE best months of my life! You light up my day, my life, my world! I love you so so much!
Let's take a look back at how you've grown!
