12 Months/ 1 Year Old

Brady, You are TWELVE months old- A ONE YEAR old!Yo

What have you been up to?

*  You are still nursing/taking a bottle 5 times a day!  We have made it to a year of breastfeeding, and I am so proud of us!  It has been such a wonderful journey, and I'm so thankful we were able to do this!  The past week, I started adding about 2 ounces of whole milk to your bottles for daycare, since I haven't been producing as much.  Your teachers said you didn't finish your bottles those first few days, like you usually do, but now you are drinking the whole thing.  You also drink juice (1/3 apple juice and 2/3 water) out of a sippy cup, and you love it!

*  You eat 3 meals a day and have 2 snacks, sometimes more.  You eat pretty much everything we give you, but you especially love yougurt melts and yogurt.  We've been holding out on you and haven't given you any big people food yet, except today at your birthday party.  We've stuck to pureed fruits and veggies, and chunks of the softer foods.  At least you eat really healthy!

*  You wear a size 3 and size 4 diaper.  We ran out of 4's, which were a little big on you, so we bought another box of 3's.  I guess I wasn't ready to move you into a 4 yet.

*  You wear, mostly, size 12 months clothes, but it depends on the brand.  I just bought you your spring wardrobe and you look adorable in it.  I bought you a bunch of plaid shorts and polo shirts!  You look so adorable, and it also makes you look like such a big boy!

*  You are really enjoying your new class at school!  You play well with your friends, and have done great going to their schedule.  You get one nap at school around 11:30 and you sleep for about 2 hours, sometimes less.  You love going outside at school, and pushing the walkers around.  When I pick you up, and your outside, you could care less that I'm there.  If you're inside, you get excited to see me!

*  You've added a few new words to your vocabulary this month!  You say "dow" (dog), "ight" (light- while pointing the any light you see), "hi" (while holding your hand up to your ear like a phone), "dada", and "uh-oh" (whenever you drop or throw something on the floor).  So that's 5 words and it doesn't include mama.  You've mumbled it a few times when you're tired, but I'm waiting to make it an official word until you call me mama.  I am so excited for you to say my name!

*  Your favorite show is Doodlebops.  It's the only thing on TV you watch, and the minute you hear the intro music for it, you get so excited!  Your favorite song is "Get on the Bus".  You love to clap and wave your arms to the music.

*  You started walking this month!  On Wednesday, March 28, you officially walked from one room to another, making it official.  You were taking a few steps for the past few weeks, but this is the day it became official.

*  Some of your favorite things include climbing the stairs, pushing things around the house, walking with your walker, and Jordan.

*  Some of your least favorite things include diaper changes, getting dressed, and mommy picking you up from daycare when you're outside playing.

*  You have 6 teeth, 2 on the bottom and 4 on top!  They never seemed to bother you while coming in, or maybe you take after your daddy and have a high pain tolerance.  I miss your gummy smile, but your teeth are so cute!

*  You are back to being a great sleeper!  You sleep from 7:30-6:00.  I nurse you to sleep, but you wake up when I lay you down in your crib.  You stand up for a few minutes, not crying, and then lay down and go to sleep.  When you sleep, you put your little butt in the air and tuck your hands under your tummy!  I watch you do this on the monitor, and I'm obsessed with it!  It's so adorable!

Brady,
What a fun month it's been!  I feel like this past month you've changed more than any other month!  I'm not sure if it's the walking or the new clothes, but you seem like such a big boy to me!  I love watching you learn and do new things!  You are just the sweetest little thing!  I love you so much!  Happy First Birthday baby boy!

Bath, Fridge, and Dishwasher Fun!

These are a few of Brady's favorite things!

Bath time!  Brady loves it!  We went through a period where he would scream and cry if I got him near the water.  But now, he loves it!  It is probably his favorite time of the day, so he gets one everyday.  He loves to put his foam letters in his mouth and give them to us to put in our mouth!  He thinks it's so funny!  Such a silly boy!

He also loves to stand up in the tub and scare his mommy!  He rather stand than sit, and no matter how tight I hold on to him, he still at times manages to slip and slide.

He also has a new found love of the refrigerator!  As soon as he hears the door opens, he comes crawling at lightning speed from wherever he is!  He loves to stand and bang on the drawers.  He also likes to turn the lights on and off.

He's even gotten a taste of the spicy brown mustard.  He threw it on the floor one day and popped open the lid.  When I turned around he had yellow all over his face.  He is definitely his daddy's child, because he loved it!

He is such a good helper, and helps us unload the dishwasher.

I love how the simplest of things brings him so much joy!

The Zoo!

We took our little lion cub to the zoo for the first time and had so much fun!

I was off work for February break, so John decided to take Friday (2/24) off and we headed to the zoo!  We had such a great time!  The zoo was pretty much empty, so it was easy to get around and get a close up of all the animals!  Brady loved it!  He loved watching the animals.

Brady had so much fun in the petting zoo!  He loved the goats!

Once we left the petting zoo, we washed our hands really well!  Brady thought the hand dryer was so funny!

We then took a ride on the carousel.  John chose the fastest animal for Brady to ride.

I love this pic of my boys!

We also took a ride on the train!

Brady loves his grow with me trike, so we took that to the zoo with us!  He loved riding around in it!

Brady fell asleep when we were leaving!

We couldn't let him sleep like this,

so John carried him!

We wanted to get Brady a souvenir that wasn't a stuffed animals since he has tons of them already.  We decided to get him the book, Atlanta Smiles.  It's a cute children's book that has tons of Atlanta's kids attractions on every page.  We decided that everytime we took Brady to visit one, we would write a little blurb about our trip.  I think it's a great way to document all the fun we will have, and also a great way to get us out and about in Atlanta.

We had such a wonderful day exploring the zoo as a family!

The Sweetest Valentine

This little guy is just the sweetest thing and made this Valentine's Day the best ever!
He's currently taken by his mommy, and won't be available for at least another 30 years!  Too bad he can't only be mine forever!

He received some sweet presents!  Grandpa and Grandma sent him Bigsby, a fun book and stuffed animal that talks, and his Nana and Pawpaw sent him a sweet card.  We gave him some board books and realistic keys (since he's always going after mine).

He loved opening his gifts!

I think he loved his highchair decoratoins!

His daddy was very sweet and helped him do some shopping!

Brady loves his teachers "A Latte"! (He gave them each a Starbucks gift card.)

Our little sweetie gave us a sweet surprise and decided to climb the stairs for the first time.  He was a pro and acted like he had been doing it forever!

He was so proud of himself, and we were so proud of him too!

He loved playing behind the bars!

We are so thankful for our newest little Valentine!
