9 Months Old

Brady, You are NINE months old!

What have you been up to?

*  You are back to your happy self!  Yay!  You still LOVE to be held, but you will happily play on the floor with your toys.  The first day you played on the floor with mommy in awhile, I cried.  It was so much fun and I missed playing with you.  Don't get me wrong, I love to hold you, but I also love to play.

*  You have become an eating machine!  You love to eat, just like your mommy and daddy!  During the week, when you go to school, I wake you at 6:00 to nurse, then you take 2 8 ounce bottles at school at 9:30 and 1:00.  I nurse you at 4:30 and again at 7:30 when you go to bed.  You eat 3 tablespoons of banana oatmeal mixed with 1 1/2 ounces of apple or pear juice at 11:00.

*  You also eat dinner at 6:00, which usually consists of  2 ounces of vegetables and 2 ounces of fruits.  You've had sweet potatoes (favorite- I added a little cinnamon to this weekends batch I made), green peas, squash, bananas, apples, blueberries.  I also gave you some jarred babyfood while we were traveling for the holidays.  You liked it, but you definitely prefer the homemade stuff.  You also eat puffs.  The past few days you've enjoyed playing with them more than eating them.

*  You are still wearing a size 3 diaper (Pamper's Swaddlers), although we did use some size 4's on our holiday trip.  I'm sure you'll find this embarrasing when your older, I feel the need to document everything, but your bm's are now solid.

*  You are wearing anywhere from 6-12 month size clothing.  I've had so much fun shopping for you, since you look adorable in everything.  You dress like your daddy, and I love it!  Such an adorable little man!

*  You still take 2 naps a day that last between 30 minutes - 2 hours.  You usually take a nap after your 9:30 bottle and your 1:00 bottle.  At school, you sleep in your swing.  At home, mommy or daddy always hold you!  You won't take naps in your crib.  We've tried once or twice and you always wake up.  We are so sweet and cuddly when you sleep, so we take advantage of the snuggle time!

*  You still love Jordan.  She is your favorite "toy".  You watch her and laugh at her, and the second you see her, your face lights up.  You also know her name, and when we ask you, "Where's Jordan?" you will look directly at her!

*  You are officially on the move!  I can't believe you are now mobile.  What happened to my tiny baby?!?!  On Friday (12/20), while your daddy was home from work for lunch, you pulled yourself from the living room into the dining room.  You pull yourself around on your tummy.  You have great upper body strength!  You also moved yourself under the table and through the chairs to get to Jordan.  Right before you got to her, she jumped up and moved.  It's amazing to me how that morning you weren't crawling, but at 12:00 you were...growing up too fast!

*  Some of your favorite things are my iphone (especially when I am talking to someone on speaker phone and the games-phony phone and an animal sounds and songs), your shapes turtle (you don't put the shapes in the correspoding holes, you prefer to bang all the pieces around), your new trike you received for Christmas, and your jumper.

*  You took your first plane ride this month and received your first pair of airplane wings!  We flew to Utah for Christmas.  You only got fussy a few times, and on the way flight there you had 2 diaper explosions and we ended up having to wash and dry an outfit on the plane for you to wear, but other than that you are a great flyer!

*  Speaking of flying, you did lots of traveling this month!  We went to Utah and Mississippi.

*  You celebrated your 1st Christmas!  You had 3 Christmas celebrations and received lots of wonderful presents!  You are so spoiled loved!

*  You started pulling yourself up!  It started in your crib one night, while your daddy was on a business trip to Paris...of course, and moved onto the bottom drawer on your dresser.

*  On 12/22, while in Utah, your first tooth came in.  We were at Target, where you had a major diaper blowout and mommy had to buy you a new outfit, and you were sitting in the cart when I saw a tiny white tooth on the bottom.  It's not all the way in, but it's working on it.  I was wondering why you were so fussy that morning, it's because you were working so hard on your tooth.

*  You've started to enjoy having your picture taken, which is great, because I take pictures of you everyday.  I'll take your picture, show it to you- which you smile at or laugh, and then smile or make a cute face for me again.  I've gotten tons of super cute potos due to your new found love!

*  You also clap and wave (you started waving at 7 months).  Your claps don't make sound, but you do it a lot.  You love for me to clap to you too!

*  You've also started saying new words like "ba ba ba".  I love to hear you talk and have conversations with you!

(You were clearly over our fun little photo shoot.)

Brady,
What a joy this past month has been!  Getting to experience the holiday season with you made it the best one ever!  You are showing more and more of your adorable personality, and I can't get enough of it!  You've experienced many milestones this month, pulling up, getting a tooth, crawling, and I'm so thankful I've been able to see them happen for the first time.  I will never be able to put into words what you do to my heart!  You are amazing, and I am beyond thankful that I get to be your mommy!  I love you sweet boy, way way more than you'll ever know!

8 Months Old

Brady, You are EIGHT months old!

What have you been up to?

*  Well, from the pictures you can tell you were not very happy about your 8 month photo shoot!  You love your mommy so much that you never want me to put you down.  If I do, you cry and scream until I pick you up.  Oh, and I can't just hold you, I have to hold you the way you want to be held...I have to stand up and hold you against my chest.  If I dare think about holding you any other way, crying and screaming ensues.  Daddy has starting calling you little monster!  However, you are still such a sweet loving baby, and I know one day you will probably scream and cry if I try to pick you up and hold you.  I guess I should take advantage of it while I still can.

*  You are a great eater!  You still nurse or take a bottle every 3 1/2 hours (6:00, 9:30, 1:00, 4:30, 7:30-8:00).  You take 8 oz. in your bottles and nurse anywhere from 6-14 minutes.  You eat 2 tbs. of oatmeal around 11:00 at daycare.  I was mixing this with momma's milk but last week I started giving you apple juice in it.  You like it both ways!

*  You have become a much better eater!  It used to take us almost 30 minutes to get you to eat 2 ounces of baby food, but now it takes you 5.  You've had sweet potato (love), butternut squash (dislike), apples (love- I usually mix with sweet potatoes), green peas (you'll eat it, but you don't love it), and today blueberries/bananas (you loved it!).  Over Thanksgiving, I also gave you a few tastes of the pumpkin pie I made.  You like it!  You also eat baby mum mum's which you rather play with than eat, and you eat puffs.  I first bought you the banana flavor and you didn't seem that interested, so today I bought you the blueberry and purple sweet potato and you couldn't get enough!  It's so cute watching you use your little fingers to pick them up and put them in our mouth!  You eat them one at a time too!  Adorable!

*  You still wear a size 3 diaper (Pampers Swaddlers).  I think you'll wear this size for awhile.  You can still wear a few of your 3-6 month onesies, but you are mostly in 9 month clothing.  It all depends on the brand.

*  You take 2 naps at daycare that last 30 min. - 2 hours each.  Sometimes you'll fall asleep in the car on the way home but most of the time you won't.  You love to look at the window.  When you're at home on the weekends, you take a nap about every 2- 3 hours.  Mommy or daddy always hold you.  We love it, since we're not this is our only opportunity to hold you while you sleep.

*  You still love Jordan and you know her name.  If we say her name, you start looking for her.  She makes you smile and laugh all the time!  If you're fussy, we'll get Jordan to come near you, and it instantly cheers you up.

*  You love to walk while we hold your hands!  You are really good at it and have become pretty fast!  It's the cutest thing to watch you walk around!

*  You have great fine motor skills and will grab anything within reach.  You also will try to leap out of our arms to get what you want...the remote and cell phone are favorites.

*  You were sick a few times this month!  Mommy received her first call from daycare saying I had to come get you!  I spent 2 days at home with you until you felt better to go back to school.

*  You also had your first emergency room visit, ride in an ambulance, and hospital stay this month.  Scariest day of my life!  Thankfully the doctors were able to figure out what was wrong and get it fixed quickly!

*  You celebrated mommy and daddy's birthdays this month!

*  Your Grandpa came to visit you!  It was quite the visit!

*  Your cousin, Lincoln, was born on November 17.  I know one day you two will have so much fun together!  I look forward to watching you grow up with your cousins!  I hope you all will be great friends too!

*  You had your first trip to your nana and pawpaws house.

*  You celebrated your first Thanksgiving!  We are SO thankful for you, our sweetest blessing!

*  You can spin around in circles on your tummy but no crawling yet.  You really don't like to be on your tummy, so you may never crawl.  We'll see!

*  Before we started the don't put me down or I'll cry phase, you loved to play with your toys.  Your favorite toy by far is your turtle!  You Grandma and Grandpa bought it for you and you love it!  You love to bang the pieces and put them in your mouth!

*  You also have started to share.  You will try to give me your paci or a toy.  Such a kind baby boy!

*  You reach for me too!  I love.....this!

Brady, What a month it has been!  It has been the scaritest month of your life for me, due to your emergency room visit and hospital stay, but also one of the happiest of my life.  Even with the scary times, we've had a lot of fun and happy times!  I love to watch you grow and discover your world.  You are so curious and take everything in!  So many people that we don't know have told us that you are going to be so smart.  You already are!  I love you so so much!  I can't believe in 4 short months you will be a one year old!  I know I keep saying this, but I wish we could slow down time.  It's going so fast, but we have so much fun!  I love love love you with all of my heart!

Pumpkin in a Pumpkin

When we took Brady to the pumpkin patch, we picked out a big pumpkin with plans to do this.  I couldn't post just 1, 5, or even 10 pictures, so 20 it is!  Enjoy the pictures of our little pumpkin in a pumpkin!

First Halloween

Brady celebrated his first Halloween today!

He wore a cute little Halloween shirt to school!

He was a monkey for Halloween!

Do what monkey's do, eat bananas!  Brady will usually just suck on the banana, but today he took a bite out of it!  I dropped my camera and grabbed the chunk out of his mouth!  I guess that is his way to scare me on Halloween!

Daddy loves monkeys, especially his!

Awww...so sweet!

This little monkey is 7 months old today!

His Halloween basket!

Playing with his treats!

Reading his book with daddy!

Baby's First Halloween PJ's.

We didn't do any trick or treating and Brady didn't get any candy, but I think he had a great first Halloween!  We certainly loved celebrating another holiday with our boy!
