Two Months Old

Brady, You are TWO months old!

What have you been up to?

*  You are still a nursing champ!  You nurse every 3 hours during the day and anywhere from 3-7 hours at night.  Your last feeding before bedtime is between 10:30 and 11 then you sleep for 3-7 hours, nurse, and go back down for another 3-5 hours (depending on what time you woke up at night to nurse).  A few weeks ago you started going from 30 minutes each feeding to about 10 minutes each feeding.

*  You usually wake up in the morning between 7-9.  I still feel so rested everyday!  You are such a great sleeper!  When you wake up you don't cry, you just start moving around a bunch in your swaddle until I wake up.  I'll look over at you and you'll smile at me.  After you wake up, I nurse you and we lay horizontal in bed and you kick your legs and coo and we have our morning chat!  You are so happy in the morning!  I love this time with you!

 *  You have outgrown your newborn diapers and most of your newborn clothes.  Does this mean you are no longer a newborn???  You now wear size 1 diapers (you wear Pampers Swaddlers) and 0-3 month clothing.  Some of your 0-3 month clothes are a little snug on you though!

*  You have discovered your fists this month and you love to suck on them!  You make such a loud sound when you do it!  They must taste yummy!

*  You have also discovered yourself in the mirror part of your swing, vibrating chair, and activity mat!  You love to smile at yourself and sometimes you get so tickled it sounds like you are about to laugh!

*  You have started to grow hair on the top of your head!  You have had long hair on the sides and the back, and have had a few really long hairs on top, but now the top is filling in!

*  A few weeks ago you broke out in what I thought was baby acne.  I called the nurse last week and she told me to put lotrimin on 2x/day and aquaphor on before every feeding.  It wasn't getting better so we went to the doctor today.  It turns out you have seborrheic dermatitis.  The doctor wants us to wash your face once a day with cetaphil and put lotion on it 2-3x/day.  I feel so bad for you, but it doesn't seem to bother you.

*  While we were at the doctor they weighed you, and you weigh 15.25 pounds!!!  We go back next week for your 2 month appointment and shots.  I'm not excited about it!

*  We take you out a lot more now.  A few times a week we usually go out shopping.  You do a great job and have only gotten fussy once while we were out.

*  You LOVE to be held and often will start fussing once we put you down.  You also really love to be held while we are standing up.  This usually calms you more than anything.  If we try to sit down, you will start crying again.  I don't mind this since I love to hold you.  Sometimes it's hard to get things done around the house, but I know all of those things can wait.

*  You also have started to hold on to things like your burp cloth, our shirts, and you love to hold on to my hair.

*  On May 17, you were doing tummy time and you rolled over from your tummy to your back twice.  You haven't done it since then.

*  We slow dance to songs during the day.  I absolutely love doing this with you.  Mommy usually ends up crying because I am just so thankful for you!  This also usually puts you to sleep.  A few weeks ago when we were slow dancing you layed your head on my shoulder and looked at me.  It was one of the sweetest moments of my life!  I never want to forget that moment!

*  You seem to be turning into a mommy's boy, and I love it!  Mommy seems to know just what to do, most of the time, when you get fussy!  However, you do love your daddy!

*  I want to remember what a typical day is like for us, so here is what it looks like:
    *  Wake up to nurse between 3-6 then go back to sleep until 7-9.
8:00-10:00- When you wake up you nurse then we lay in bed together and you kick your legs and we have morning "talk".
10:00-11:00- You take your morning nap on my chest.
     11:00-11:30- Nurse, burp, change diaper
11:30- 12:30- Playtime.  Mommy usually puts you in the vibrating chair in the bathroom while I take a shower and get ready for the day.  Once I'm finished we head downstairs and play on the activity mat.
12:30- 2:00- Daddy's home for lunch!  He plays with you for a few minutes and while we eat lunch you go in your swing.  You usually fall asleep during this time.
    2:00-2:30- Nurse, burp, change diaper
2:30-4:00- It depends on the day, but we either have playtime or we run errands.  During this playtime we do a little bit of tummy time, lounging on my legs to talk and sing songs, and we slow dance.  Slow dancing always puts you to sleep.
4:00-5:00- Naptime (you usually sleep on mommy's chest during this time)
    5:00-5:30- Nurse, burp, change diaper
5:30-7:00- Playtime.  We play on the activity mat, read books upstairs in your room, and have bathtime (you get a bath every other day).  I also try to start cooking dinner.
7:00-8:00- Daddy's home and Naptime...sometimes.  You usually get fussy during this time and don't want to sleep.
    8:00-8:30-  Nurse, burp, change diaper
8:30-11:00- You are awake for a short time and then you sleep.
11:00-11:30-  Change diaper, nurse, burp, bedtime.

I love spending my days with you and will be SOOOOO sad when I have to go back to work.

*  Brady, I can't even begin to describe how much we love you!  You have completely changed our lives for the best!  We can't imagine life without you!  We love you sweet, sweet boy!

Here's a comparison from last month and this month:
You are definitely growing!

Baby In the Mirror

Brady was doing tummy time today and found himself in the mirror!  He just stared and stared!  He's also found himself in the mirror part of his swing and vibrating chair.  He will just smile and smile at himself!  It is so cute and makes me smile!

First Family Walk

Today we went on our first family walk!  There is a nice walking and bike riding trail near our house, so we packed up Jordan and Brady and went for a walk.  Brady was awake at the beginning, went to sleep in the middle, and then woke up for the remaining of the walk.  Jordan had fun trying to chase squirrels and a deer.  We all had a great time, but we think Jordan enjoyed it the most!

I look forward to many more family walks!

Bumbo

Brady sat in his bumbo for the first time on Friday!  He looked so cute and chunky in it.  I love it!

While Daddy's away...

Mommy and Brady will play!

John has been in France on a business trip this week!  Brady and I tried to stay busy while he was gone.  We played on the activity mat, did tummy time, went shopping, swung in the swing, slow danced, read books, rocked in his rocking chair, sang songs, slept, ate, had bathtime, and took lots of pictures.  We had fun doing all of those things, but we REALLY missed Daddy!  We are so excited for him to come home tonight!

Here we are hanging out in bed missing daddy!

8 Weeks Old

Brady is 8 Weeks Old today!  He was very serious during his photoshoot!  He's been spitting up a ton of chunky stuff, so I don't think he feels very well!  I called his pediatrician for the first time today worried, but they told me it was normal.  He hasn't wanted me to put him down, but he let me put him in his swing and now he's snoozing away.

Here are the pics of my serious but adorable baby!

Little Slugger

Here is our little slugger modeling his first baseball uniform!  His Grandpa and Grandma Rose bought it for him when they were here visiting.  They had it personalized with his last name and his daddy's favorite number, 3.  We think he would make a perfect and adorable baseball player!  He was born on opening day this year and watched his first Braves game the day he was born (they even won)!

He takes baseball very seriously!

He already gives great pep talks!

He can do pushups with one hand while sucking on his other hand.

When you smile...

When you smile,

the whole world stops and stares for awhile,

because you're AMAZING,

just the way you are!

Relay For Life

Yesterday, Brady participated in his first Relay for Life!  We didn't stay for a long time since it was so hot and the bugs were out, but he did go to show his support!  My school has a team and this is my 6th year being on it!  It was different this year since I didn't really participate other than showing up for a few hours.  We still enjoyed going and having Brady meet more of my coworkers and meeting his friend Collins for the first time.  I even made them matching shirts to wear.

Ready to go!

Daddy feeding Brady a bottle!

My little man and me!

My friend Tasha and our sweet baby boys!
I love how Brady is looking at Tasha, and Collins has his hands in his mouth!  So cute!

6 Weeks and 7 Weeks Old

Brady turned 6 weeks old on May 12 and 7 weeks old on May 19.  I love taking pictures every week on his weekly birthday in his crib.  It really shows how much he's grown!  I wouldn't mind if he slowed down a bit!  Time is flying by, but we are having so much fun!

Here are his 6 week pics:

His 7 week pics!  Such a smiley baby!  He was having so much fun kicking his legs in his crib!

Aunt Alicia and Cousin Ashlyn Visit

Last Wednesday, Aunt Alicia and Cousin Ashlyn came to visit and meet Brady for the first time!

Brady was so excited to pick them up!

They are here!  Yay!

Meeting Brady for the first time!  Ashlyn kept touching him with her little finger!

Brady and Ashlyn looked at the camera, but Aunt Alicia didn't follow directions!

Aunt Alicia holding Brady for the first time!

Here is what else we did during their trip:

Brady and Ashlyn played on the activity mat!

Ashlyn rode on Brady's rocking horse!  She has one too!

They slept in their carseats on our many trips to shop!

I read recipes to Ashlyn while...

Aunt Alicia gave kisses to Brady!

Ashlyn was so excited to "hold" Brady!  Brady didn't know what to think!

Ashlyn hung out with Brady while he was in his vibrating chair.

We had a little photo shoot!

They held hands...SO sweet!

Ashlyn climbed the stairs!

And she tried to feed Brady!  It wasn't what he wanted!

Ashlyn swung Brady in the swing!

Uncle Tony came to visit!

Brady slept, and...

Ashlyn slept!

We had a photo shoot outside, and...

this cutie tried her best to keep her feet off the grass!

We had a wonderful visit and were so sad to have it end, but we look forward to next time!  Thank you for coming to visit!  WE LOVE YOU!
