4 Months Old

Brady, You are FOUR months old!

What have you been up to?

*  You eat every 3 1/2 hours now, and your feedings last anywhere from 8-30 minutes!  When you do nurse for 30 minutes, you are asleep for most of it!  You are still waking up at night around 4:00 to eat, but you go right back to sleep!

*  You wear a size 3 diaper (Pamper's Swaddlers).  Last month you were in a size 1!  I think you went through a big growth spurt this month!

*  You are wearing size 3-6 months clothes, but some of them are already a little tight!  You look SO adorable in all of your new outfits!

*  This month was full of firsts!  Your first laugh (that I heard), your first time rolling over, and your first time blowing rasberries (which you do ALL the time now)!  I love watching you learn new things, but it makes me a little sad that you are growing so fast!

*  You LOVE Jordan!  You have developed such a fasination with her!  If she comes close to you, you get a huge grin on your face!  I just know you two will be such great friends!

*  We have found a paci that works!  Mommy went to the store and looked at every single one!  Since you had a hard time latching on, I picked one that was thinner (Dr. Brown's) and it works!  I only give it to you when it's time for you to go to sleep!  I rock you and give you your paci, and you're out in a few minutes!

*  You had your first babysitter this month!  Sadly, Mommy had to go back to work last week.  Thankfully, Nana came up to keep you to help transition you and me into our new routine.  It was SO hard to leave you, and I missed you like crazy!  I have about 20 pictures of you all around my classroom and watch the videos I have of you on my phone when I pump during the day!  The best part of my day is when I get to come home and see you!  I just want to hold you and not put you down!

*  You have started touching my face, and it's so sweet!  When we lay next to eachother, you will roll over on your side and just touch my face with your little hand and stare at me!  Seriously, heart melting!

*  You have started not to love your activity mat as much as you used to!  I think you're just bored with it and need something new!  You have started using your activity jumping center and will tolerate it for about 10 minutes.  You still enjoy your swing, but only when you are sleepy.  You take the best naps in it!

*  You LOVE to have something and anything in your mouth!  Fingers, fists, my hair, sophie...if it comes near your mouth you are going to put it in your mouth!

*  You celebrated another holdiay, 4th of July!  We had a nice relaxing day, and you saw your first fireworks!

*  You had your 3 month photo shoot this month and did wonderful!  You are such a little model!  The pictures turned out SO cute!

*  We found out you were going to have a new cousin in November!  Aunt Stacie is having a little boy, Lincoln!  I know you guys will have so much fun together when you get older!  Ashlyn, I'm sure, will boss you two around!

*  You are such a sweet, happy, loving baby!

Brady, It's hard to imagine, but I love you more and more with each passing day!  My heart continues to grow, and it feels like it's going to burst out of my chest!  I can honestly feel it growing!  I love you SO SO much!

One Year Ago Today- Two Pink Lines

One year ago today I took these 4 tests and for the first time I saw two pink lines and the word pregnant!

I remember that day so clearly!  Summer was over, and it was the first day of preplanning (Wed.).  During our morning meeting our principal welcomes everyone back and asks if anyone has any news to share.  Two new pregnancies were announced, and I sat in my seat wishing I was one of them!  I of course congratulated the other two teachers, but my heart was breaking!  I wanted a baby!  For almost a year and a half every month I had taken pregnancy tests and seen one line or the words not pregnant!

I went about my day but noticed that my boobs were feeling sore!  I didn't think much of it until I was on my way home.  I called one of my friends, Becky Pfaff, and asked her if her boobs were sore.  She said they weren't, so I decided to swing by Walmart and buy a pregnancy test since I knew that it was a symptom.  In my heart I thought I was pregnant, but didn't want to get my hopes up.  I got home, chugged a bottle of water, went into the downstairs bathroom, and peed on a stick.  I placed the test on the back of the toilet and waited.  Within seconds, I looked at the test and saw TWO very bright pink lines.  My heart was racing, tears streaming down my face as I looked at the box to double check that I was seeing what I was supposed to be seeing!  I was!

I didn't know what to do.  I stood there in shock, looked at the test, looked at the box, looked at the test again, thanked GOD over and over again!  I WAS PREGNANT!  I needed to tell John right away, but he was at work!  I always wanted to do something cute to tell him, but I was too impatient.  He needed to know right now!  I called him at work and told him he needed to come home right now.  He asked if everything was okay and I told him he just needed to come home right now.  Luckily, he works about 2 minutes away.  He called on his way home to double check that everything was okay, and when I told him it was he said he knew!  He walked in the door and I showed him the stick.  We hugged, kissed, cried!  What we had prayed for and hoped for was finally happening!  We were having a baby!

After I told John, I had to share the news with family and friends!
John went back to work to get his things and I went back to Walmart to buy more pregnancy tests!  I just wanted to double check.  This time I bought the digital pregnancy tests.  I wanted to see the word pregnant in writing without the word not in front of it.  After taking four tests, I decided it was really happening and I didn't need to take any more!

We went out to celebrate that night at Brookwood Grill!  I could not get the smile off of my face!  I was going to be a mommy and John was going to be a daddy!  God is so good!

Here we are one year later with the most precious, sweet, smiling, babbling, spit bubble blowing, rolling over baby boy!  We have been blessed in more ways than I could ever dream of!

Life is SO SO good!

Rolling Over and 17 Weeks Old

This is at the end of his first roll over!  Of course, I didn't know he was about to do it or I would have been prepared!

Brady rolled over for the first time on Tuesday, July 26.  Now he's a rolling fool!

Right after he finished.  He was a little confused at what just happened!

Brady turned 17 weeks old on Thursday, July 28.

He is the sweetest baby boy!

His toes touch the side of the crib!

I wonder what he will do next week?

Laughter

This funny little guy is laughing, and it's the sweetest sound!

His daddy says that he laughed for him for the first time while we were at the beach (June 18).  I was buying Brady some clothes and John was entertaining him in the dressing room mirror, and John said he started laughing, but I didn't hear it.

The first time I heard him laugh was on July 4.  Tyson stopped by to visit, and within 5 minutes of him holding Brady, Brady laughed at him.

The first time Brady laughed for me was on July 11.  I was changing his diaper in his room and I kissed his neck and he laughed!  Made my day!

He continues to laugh every day now!  He loves for me to kiss his bare tummy or his neck.  It gets him everytime!

Here's a few silly pictures of our silly baby boy!

Happy 4th!

Brady was so excited about celebrating 4th of July so he woke up twice during the night to see if it was time yet!  He's never woken up more than once on his own, so I know he was ready to celebrate our freedom!

Brady kicked off the day by taking a nap on his daddy's lap!

We then went out to lunch and went to the bookstore!  Brady got a new book that I'm excited to read him, "Guess How Much I Love You?"

Tyson came to visit!  Brady loved meeting Tyson again and gave him smiles, a laugh (I'm not counting it as his first), and he spit up on him!

Daddy and Brady!

Our family of 3!

Me and my little firecracker!

He's thankful for his freedom!

John and I always go watch fireworks, but we were worried they would scare Brady, so Daddy bought fireworks!  It was raining and lightning, but Daddy made sure Brady saw his first firework!

We ended the night by ordering Cheesecake Factory for dinner and curled up on the couch and watched "Gnomeo and Juliet".

We had a wonderful 4th of July!

Nana came to visit!

Nana came to visit this past weekend!  She arrived late Thursday night and left Sunday morning!  We had a wonderful time playing, saying how cute Brady is, shopping, and eating!

Right when she arrived!

Brady wanted to grab the shiny objects on her shirt!

Eating lunch at Varasano's!

Thanks for coming to visit Nana!
