Brady's First Easter

Brady celebrated his very first holiday and a very special one at that...Easter!

On Friday, Daddy took off work and we took Brady to meet the Easter Bunny!  He did great, and we got a really cute picture of him!  I look forward to comparing these pictures year after year!

On Saturday, we went down to Uncle Don's and Aunt Myna's in Macon, GA.  We go every year, but this year we were so excited for Brady to meet so many of his family members!  Aunt Amy, Uncle Dave, and cousin Ava traveled from St. Louis, Nana and Paw Paw came from Mississippi, and Aunt Betty came from Texas!  Brady got lots of love from so many people!  We are so thankful that he is so loved by so many!

Aunt Amy had cute matching Easter shirts for Brady and Ava to wear!

On Sunday, we celebrated a nice Easter at home.  Here's how we celebrated:

Brady got his first Easter Basket with a book, doggie tag toy, and peeps!

We dyed Easer eggs!  Brady had so much fun!

Best and cutest Easter basket ever!

I am so thankful we have Brady with us this year to celebrate!  Last year on Easter, I prayed that I would have a baby for Easter this year!  Now, Brady is here!  God is SO good!

3 Weeks Old- April 21, 2011

Brady, You are 3 weeks old!

Here is what you are up to:

*  You lost your umbilical cord on Friday (4/15/11) a few hours after your doctor's appointment!  Mommy was nursing you and found it on the bed when we were finished!
*  You are still a nursing champ!  You nurse every 3 hours during the day and 4-5 hours at night!
*  You took a bottle for the first time this week!  Daddy gave it to you and mommy cried!  It was the first time you haven't nursed, but I loved seeing your daddy have that moment with you!
*  You are awake more during the day!  During your awake time we play on your activity mat, swing in the swing, lay on your blanket and practice kicking your legs and stretching your arms, and sit propped up on my legs and we just talk.  I love this time with you and treasure it so much!
*  You are a great sleeper!  You go to sleep around 11, sleep until your first feeding, and then you go back down and sleep until your next feeding!  Mommy feels very rested every morning!
*  You have started following us with your eyes!  It's so cute!
*  You have started having a fussy time around 6:30 at night!  I think you have colic, since you have all the signs, but we work through it!  It breaks our hearts to hear you cry!
*  We love you so much Brady!  We are so thankful that we get to be YOUR mommy and daddy!

2 week appointment- April 15, 2011

Brady had his 2 week doctor appointment, and he did great!

They measured Brady and listened to his heartbeat!  The doctor said everything looks and sounded great!  His umbilical cord still hasn't fallen off, so he applied some ointment to it to help it dry up.

Brady's stats are:
Weight:  9 lbs 6 oz (90th percentile)
Height:  21 1/4 inches (75th percentile)
Head:  15 inches (50th percentile)

His doctor is Dr. Silverman, and we really like him!

We were so excited that Daddy got to come!  Brady didn't have to get any shots :), but Daddy did (to prevent whooping cough)!  Daddy did great and even got a tazmanian devil bandaid!

We are so thankful for a wonderful and healthy doctor's appointment!

2 weeks old- April 14, 2011

Brady, You are 2 weeks old!

Here is what you are up to:

* You nurse every 3 hours and are going between 4-5 hours at night.  You are a nursing champ!
*  When you nurse, and you don't like the latch, you squint your eyes really tight and shake your head as if you are saying no.  It's very cute!
* After you nurse, during the day, you are awake for about 45 minutes and then you go to sleep until your next feeding.  During the night, you sleep from feeding to feeding!  Mommy really appreciates this and hopes you keep this up!
*  You make the cutest baby sounds and the cutest baby faces.  Mommy could listen and stare at you all day...and I do!
*  You still have your umbilical cord.  It looks like it's hanging on by a thread!
*  You peed on yourself for the first time today, and it got on your little cheeks!  Mommy felt bad for you, but it was pretty funny!
*  You can hold your head up for about 10 seconds, and you are SO strong!  When we burp you, you try to climb up our chest.
*  You like your activity mat and swing.  You don't spend too much time in either, because I always want to hold you!
*  Mommy and Daddy are SO in love with you!  You are our greatest blessing!
